Phone Powers Off Randomly

It just started doing this, I'll be using the device and it will just shut off at random, after it reboots it just shuts off again. I called my independent dealer and they told me to take the battery out for 2 hours and then try again.

I did have it in the bathroom with me while I was showering tonight and it started after that. Hoping it's just moisture that can find its way out of the phone while I have it apart.

Any other advice is much appreciated, thanks.

Had the same problem. Got a new battery and now works fine.

Interestingly, T-Mobile knows about it, they warned me in the store in Dec 2012 not to buy it due to these random shut offs - but they lied to me now that the latest batch they had been delivered in Jan 2012 didn't have this issue. Wrong! And Blackberry hasn't resolved that issue yet! This is my second Bold now. I can't believe this is happening. All forums are full of these issues, I wonder whether we're reading about RIM's insolvency soon??

I had this issue for a while too. It appears that it was a program. For me, it was BlackBerry music. Once I removed it, the random reboots stopped.

There's a program out there that can show you what program caused the error. (I don't recall the name of it.) I would recommend installing and running after reboot. That should narrow the culprit for you.
