| | Not Impressed At All
I'm impressed that salomondrin got himself another yet unreleased device as he did with the tour. He has several videos up on youtube. What I'm highly unimpressed is the device itself. Pretty much looks the same and the specs aren't all that impressive. Wifi, useless to me. The only thing I muss say its nice is more memory and the dark chrome finish. Aside from that (I know it may be changed, prototype) the keys reek cheapness. Yes they make the phone more streamlined but look horrible and those gaps are just plain ridiculous . Then that you can't see light from the side of the screen neither can I on my 9530 the only light I seems by the hard keys but that issue is little ***** nitpicking. I don't see any feature that wows me. Or wishes makes me wish I could upgrade. The keys along wit the screen deal I'm not so sure ts a good idea, yeah it blocks light but my gf's lg chocolate had touch/pressure sensitive keys and it was horrible . Always selecting and exiting out of menus unwantedly. So we'll see. But so far not so good

Perhaps you shouldn't buy a Storm 2, then! Thanks for sharing, though.

many of us realized after having the storm 1 that a touchscreen is not all that and perfer the keyboard phones.
doesnt matter how good, or even how bad the storm is, a lot of us cant stand touch screens anymore so I don't see as many people buying storm 2 as they did when storm 1 just came out

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com | That's perfectly fine. Sounds like the Storm 2 really isn't for you, then. What you're not understanding, really, is that the dang thing is faster than the Storm 1 (Kevin himself said it's like it's got a "Turbo" setting on it), it's more streamlined, looks smoother, light leaks (making it look cheap are gone) and the 1 button for click is gone. As is the harder typing on it (some people are slower on it).
But if your Storm is working out for you, awesome! I know that I wanted a Storm, stuck it out with my Curve, and am looking forward to upgrading in November. Already wondering if I'll be able to talk people into waiting at midnight with me. Probably going to get a Twitter account just for it, and/or make new PIN friends to talk to people while I wait for my local store to open.
Again, if the Storm 2 isn't something you drool over, awesome. That's why they're called opinions.

I've tested the odin myself, and I was very impressed. Touchscreen isn't my thing, but the s2 is much better than the previous version.

preferences!!!
Thats what its all about. But don't have such a strong view of this device without holding it. I mean hey, if you don't like touch screens than anything they make will not satisfy you. But if your options are always "open," as mine always are, I don't see how this thing cant be a successful upgrade. No dust in screen, best click screen ever, , no paper behind battery, button problem solved, mucho memory, faster and smoother turbo OS, stream lined design, improvd camera, wifi... what more can you possibly want in a 1 year update to a device???
I think people are just going to want to complian just to be able to post something here and get an argument going for nothing

I'm still trying to figure what part of the video was not impressive.
was it...
1. The accelerometer working faster than the iphone?
2. The large amount of app memory?
3. The incredibly quick responsiveness of the touch screen?
4. The integrated buttons onto the screen?
5. The general quickness and speed of the os?
I'm trying to figure out which one of those didn't impress you, because they all impressed me. I'm not a S1 fan at all, but this phone looks like it is a vast improvement. No, I haven't tried the S1 in about 4 months, so I'm sure it's better than it was then.
I do admit though, this phone is very intriguing. It seems like it just keeps getting better and better. I'm really considering paying full retail for this thing if ATT or Rogers get it.

What are you talking about? I love touch screen phones as this is my second one of this format. My point is that I don't see the device as much revolutionary from the first. And if you read in the end of my moment I wrote well see. Meaning that when I try the final product I will give it my final opinion as this is obviously my preliminary impression from what I have seen so far

And if you read I did a yay to higher app memory . Either from that all your questions are answered . My point of the touch buttons is from a previous experience with an lg chocolate2. As I said before I look forward to trying the device in person but I really don't see a standout feature of upgrading from my currents 9530. I am back to OS .148 but after trying .151 I am confident that the storm is capable enough and its more of an OS issue rather than hardware

Not to compare to the iphony 3g and 3gs (which I do not approve of) but I see the storm 2 as more of a Storm Plus. I see this name as more appropriate than storm 2

whoolio, you started this tread with disatisfaction. Revolutionary? What were you expecting revolutionary that a new input method wouldn't satisfy? Did you want this thing to be 3d? Operate through mind control? have a blood sugar meter built in?
I see the part where you write "we'll see," however, your reasoning for this tread was pure dispeasure with what you have seen so far. So I definitely do not understand your logic with this tread.
But as with everyone else who's posted on here, we're giving it life which may or may not be a good thing. Maybe its just fun to complain? and maybe its also fun to rebutt the complainer

Revolutionary as in the 9530 has a screen that clicks so excuse me for regarding RIM as a innovator and wanting to be wowed once again but then again what's the point of forums if not to discuss opinions of dissatisfaction or applause

Hey guys, you should not forget that the screen in the Odin is supposed to be a real innovation and that the info on the specific advantages has not been leaked yet. Guess we will have to wait and see.
