When you update your OS, does it typically delete all your contacts, 3rd party apps, mail accounts, etc.? When I updated yesterday, mine did. In a panic (because some of my 3rd party apps were a little costly), I did a full restore from the backup the DM made prior to updating the OS. While I got back most of the important stuff, several of my icons were missing including BB Maps (including the ability to use the GPS and satellite connection feature), BB Messenger (which I've since dl'd from the store), all of the preloaded games, VZ Navigator, and a few others. The service books and modules are still there though for maps and messenger.

Is it possible it was a bad update/restore? I'm currently running 320. Would it be possible to completely wipe it, reload 320, and get all of those features back?
Yes, during the install/update process, it will delete all and install over your existing OS, however it will auto backup your device except third party apps.

Hope this helps

PS: Do a batt pull and it should resend the service books from VZ for the preloaded VZ apps. BBM and BBMaps can be downloaded from BB website.

Voice loss occurs during connected calls. After battery pull it becomes but comes back after a while. Any ideas about what could be wrong?

When I looked at the subject of this thread labeled "Newest 9550 OS 5.0.0.320- Verizon " that lead me to believe this was a discussion amongst Verizopn customers, not Vodoafone and Mobilink customers that are having carrier connection problems. Myself I have talked on my S2 many times for longer then 20-30 minutes upto as long as an hour, never having the phone drop a call.
Sounds like it is NOT a RIM issue, but a carrier issue to me. Now if all of those handsets that have the call disconnect/fade issue are on Verizon or put on Verizon and continued to have the same problem, then yes by all means there is a handset problem. But right now a Vodoafone S2 handset is being compared against Verizon, as is a Mobilink S2.

Well if you look at various forums you'll find its an issue for both 9520/9550. It is affecting 5-10% of the people & that's a significant number across the globe. So lucky you but doesn't mean the problem doesn't exist.

What percentage of people do you think are effected by the bottom button issues?

Isn't that vierd?

Unfortunately, each OS is specific to a particular model of phone. They are not interchangeable. I believe the latest OS for your found can be found here:

I was excited and then was sad...

I got a notification that a new OS was out... only to find out my notifications were still linked to the 8830 I used to have.

I really wish the storm2 .320 did that. the two days I was running the new release on the storm1 I fell in love with it.
@rj5570

In case you didn't get a response on this, you can combine your email accounts all into the one "Messages" folder. Here's how...

1) Go to your main messages mailbox
2) From your menu, select "Options"
3) In Message Options, select "General Options"
4) In General Options, scroll down to "SMS and Email Inboxes"
a) This option usually defaults to "Theme Controlled"
b) Change this to "Combined"

I believe this will bring all your inboxes together. Good luck!
