You should already have .306 on your Storm 2. It's the operating system version number.

Hi everibody

I'm brand new in the BB world. After many years of windows mobile I've decided to go for a Storm2. I really like it but the thing is that a bunch of features are locked by my carrier (SFR, french carrier in partnership with vodafone), such as personal email which is impossible to set up unless you pay extra option. Also the browser is not fully usable as it should be.
So I was wondering if I can replace the OS by the one you propose here (same release .306). If so, will I have my stuff back in french with AZERTY keaboard ?
Or is there a quicker way to get rid of this annoying SFR layer ? (I saw you guys were mentionning a file named vendor.xml...?)

In a nutshell no you cant...all the vendor.xml does is allow you to install another carriers OS onto your device but it wont get rid of any branding that is done by the carrier...for that you would have to de-brand but that uses illegal software and can potentially ruin your device if you dont do it right.

To use a blackberry you will need to have a Blackberry Internet Service aka BIS which will let you use your personal email and also web browse properly...without that you wont be able to use your BB much more than a normal phone.
