NEWBIE HAVING ISSUES WITH "EDGE" on 9550

Good Evening, before I explain my issue I'm going to give you a little information about the phone and my location. The phone (9550) was purchased and primarily use in NYC. It was unlocked and I am using T-Mobile service with it. I have the $70 pre-paid plan with the extra $10 for the BB Data plan. I have version 5.0.0.1015 (bundle 1656, Platform 4.2.0.442). My apn settings are epc.tmobile.com, I have it as GSM and under 2G only. I downloaded and I believe I installed the hybrid software I found on lyrical. I had the service books sent to me by T-mobile (because of the plan I have I can't on the mytmobile account send the service books myself). I also registered the phone via host routing table.

***While I did receive the message from blackberry on my phone that my 9550 was registered, when I went to BIS to create a account for my unit, I put in my PIN and IMED (dec) number I always get an error stating my unit hasn't been registered with my wireless provider please try the steps again. Can someone figure that one out***

With all that said here is my BIG issue which I looked high n dry for all day today but can't find a solution. It seems every time I try going using the web2go or internet browser (under browser the 'former' is default) it IMMEDIATELY goes from "EDGE" to 'edge'. Now I can still go to websites however once I go off it, thats where the real fun begins. I can't receive any emails at all. This also happens with I try to used apps like facebook or foursquare but while I can still use the internet on the lower edge, I can't even use the apps at all. Anyway, once it is on the lower edge it stays there until I remove and put back the battery. I tried to get SWAP-A-RADIO but each thread or forum I go to still has the same bad link, every time I click on it the site says the URL is not valid or something. Besides all that I don't even know which radio to use or even where to start

disable the APN altogether.

Reboot or turn the mobile connection off then back on...leave it for a few minutes until you get EDGE.

if the disabling doesnt work try as APN wap.voicestream.com
as for the BIS registering issue contact BB and have them help you do it directly from their website
