Ok I have a question about my Verizon Blackberry Storm 2 9550 .. but let me get into detail first about the phones history to better explain my question .. ok about 6 weeks ago I found this Verizon Blackberry Storm 2 9550 ( WITH OUT THE SIM CARD ) moving into my new apartment obviously the phone has been cut off due to non payment on the phones bill the last 6 weeks or better, I have a AT&T Prepaid GoPhone that I still use way before the found Version Blackberry Storm 2 9550 and still use to this day ! and would like to take the sim card out of it and put in the Verzion Blackberry Storm 2 9550 !! ok now to my question ( IS THIS POSSIBLE ??? ) and also I believe the Verizon Blackberry Storm 2 9550 has already been unlocked but I am not 100% sure !! on several attempts putting the AT&T PrePaid GoPhone Sim Card into the Verizon Blackberry Storm 2 9550 and then cutting on the Blacberry then going to the ( Manage Connections ) option, the Mobile Network is ( On ) then selecting the option ( Mobile Network Options ) Data Services is ( On ) - While Roaming is ( Off ) - Mobile Network shows ( AT&T ) - Network Selection Mode shows ( Automatic ) - Network Technology shows ( GSM/UMTS ) - Network Mode shows ( 3G & 2G ) but the S.O.S is the only CALL option available ! and when changing the Network Technology from ( GSM/UMTS ) to ( Global ) it switches Back to Verizion Wireless and provides all the networks antenna/bars .but when in the option ( Advanced Options ) ans selecting the ( Sim Card ) option the BlackBerry reads on the top of the screen ( SIM CARD : No Valid SIM Card ) ??


Question 1. - Can a verizion Blackberry Storm 2 9550 WORK using a AT&T Prepaid Gophone Sim card ? and if so what ( Step by Step ) options do I need to take ??


Question 2. - How Can you tell if the Verizion Blackberry Storm 2 9550 has been unlocked or not ?

p.s please save me the time if you can NOT be direct and detailed with me as I have for you pleasec ! for the simple reason that I my self may not be the only person with this issue seeking for help and answers !and also i have attached 2 screen shots of the Blackberry hope it help some. thanks for reading !

The top part of your post is very difficult to read.

But to answer your specific questions ...

1. Yes. But it must be unlocked. And it will only work for voice and text. You will not get BlackBerry data on GoPhone.

2. Go to Options -> Advanced Options -> SIM CARD -> then type MEPD. Read what is next to "Network". If it reads "Inactive" or "Disabled", then it is unlocked.

Did you check to see if it was unlocked on the SIM Card menu screen?

What does it read next to "Network"?

hey my fault but yes Next to " Network " it says " Inactive " so this means it's unlocked right ? and also if it is " Unlocked " what next step do I take to use the blackberry with my AT&T prepaid go phone sim card ?
