My storm2 has been working flawlessly until today, where it has reset about 5 times so far today. What do I do?

Did you install any new software? this usually means a app you have is not compatible.

+1.

If you answer no to the above question wipe the device with BBSAK and reinstall. If after that the same issues crop up return it for a replacement.

I had a same problem, but mine was resetting couple of times a day. I wiped it clean and the issue was still there. I took the phone to VZ store and they replaced it with a brand new one.

you guys are lucky that your resets are software issues. i think mine is hardware related... everytime i put my phone down a bit hard or make any swift movement with the phone in my hand it reboots... i am going to vzw tomorrow and hopefully they will switch it...

I think you have a loose battery. Change the battery and see if it reboots...from what I have read in these forums, there was a certain batch of bad battery's that went out and I'm thinking yours is one of them...

You are right. I took my storm 2 in and they looked at the battery and it looked like it has been use. So they replace it and no more rest.

Default Resets When I Too Quickly Switch to SPKR on Incoming Call

I think we both are seeing the same problem - battery surges. In my case, I have used the Radio Shack Contact Cleaner to gingerly clean both my battery and S2 contacts. Still got a reset on answering a call (two times). In my case, I have been switching to SPKR immediately and getting the resets. Now, when I answer a call, I wait for a time until I switch to speaker. (Has, ahem, other side benefits.) Doctor Neutron

I started this particular thread. Myself and another user replaced our batteries as well. We have had no reboots since then. How long have you had that same battery?

When My Phone kept rebooting I connected my phone into my home computer and opened up the Device software. Then I chose update software and went through the whole thing again. I had backed up my device the week before. Everything was fine. The reseting problem came after a software update, When I opened the device software on my computer the phone stoped resetting and the software told me an update was available.

I know its not quite the same problem but that Device software is the best!

I have 2 from S1 plus the one that came with S2. I track my battery usage with MeterBerry - its very erratic, but I rarely go thru a battery in 1 day. I think my usage is related mainly to WiFi, but it is very difficult to pin down. I keep 4 apps open 24/7: AP, Reuters, WSJ, and Bloomberg. Doctor Neutron

It may be worth a shot to try a brand new batt. You can find one on Ebay for around 5 bucks. I got one at 4 and some change with free shipping. I think thats a small price to pay versus buying a new phone or waiting for VZW to pacify you.

Recently I was having as many as 5 resets a day.
Determined that this was only happening when I had BT enabled.
I recently loaded a game called Blocked Traffic Free.
I looked at the permissions settings and it had a BT enabled. So I disabled it. Don't know why this game would need BT.
But I also did a 10 min battery pull.
All is well now
Don't know if it was the disabling the BT on the game or whether the 10 min battery pull that did solved it but before you do a clean install of the OS at least try the 10 min battery pull.

Good Luck
