i followed the link and downloaded the file, i open the exe file but it just redownload the bb desktop? how do i update my bb. HELP ?!!@

wipe bb with bbsak, then go to :\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader, delete Vendor.xml file and run Loader.exe

Hello storm2 users.

I installed the DRM Vodafone UK version on my S2 over the weekend, most things seem to work fine, I did the clock patch too but I found an other problem on my unit.

The BBM and other messengers like YM MSN GT are not working. (with or w/o the clock fix)
I get an error when I start any of the messengers:
! uncaught exception: java.lang.nullpointerException

I tried reinstalling this version a few times, removing and then adding the messengers etc. That all didnt work.

Any tips to solve this please?

I'm going to ask a daft question here, can I use this upgrade before I launch my strom 2 in the nearest receptacle.
I'm on o2 & Applications: 5.0.0.713

I've been having problems with transferring all my Address Book across it would always transfer half of my contacts to the phone, so I didn't bother transferring them across the second time I put the software on my phone and my bbm now seems to work? Anyone else ever had problems like this?

So you are saying it is related to address book?
I could not solve the issue so I went back to the previous version.

I might try it again this weekend, maybe backup my address book into outlook and sync it from there instead of using the backup from BB DM.

I downloaded this OS
Deleted Vendor.xml
installed the OS
plugged the phone
Desktop Software 6 popped up
NOTHING HAPPENED
I clicked on the Applications button from the left sidebar
It loaded existing applications
NOTHING HAPPENED

How can i update my blackberry storm 2?

Currently it is 5.0.0.3xx

Please help.

After you install it I don't think it will prompt you for an update. You have to to select it from the menu at the top in DM, then it will start searching for the available updates, for me it will show my carrier available ones and the one installed additionally.

You've to make sure it's the correct version, i.e. DRM or noDRM version, for our phone. If it's not compatible it won't show up.
