JVM Error 523

Hi all..

I've def seen a few posts on this, but maybe someone can help clear it up for me..

I have BB Storm 2, this morning it was working fine, I opened up BBM to send a message, put the phone down, and when i picked it up the phone was rebooting. Not a major issue as my BB has a mind of its own..

Once rebooted, the whole screen is white and says "JVM Error 523" with "Continue" highlighted underneath it.. not that I can continue. I understand I need to reinstall the OS, but I'm not too sure how to do this..

I believe I need to download blackberry desktop manager, and when I do it's not recognizing that my device is connected (probablly because it kind of isn't, since it's not functioning.)

How do I get it to be recognized so I can install the OS? And also, do I need to download the OS seperately, or does it come with the BDM?

Try to download blackberry desktop manager, and then install a fresh operating system for your device.

You'll need device software for your device, and Desktop Manager for backing up your phone settings, contacts, ect. Desktop Manager can be used to download and install device software.

Alternately try pulling the battery, putting it back in, and holding the Back/Escape button as it loads. This puts the device in safe mode, so if you boot into safe mode with no problem you could get away with removing an app that could be causing the issue without having to wipe the device.
