It's on OS7 but apparently it isn't the same as it was on the Storm, probably because it's not a clickable screen.

Probably not. SurePress died with the Storm series from all reports.

Not quite sure what you're meaning here; SurePress is exclusive to the Storms' OS (OS4.7 for OG Storm and OS5 for both). Where is it in OS7?

I thought it was included in OS7 for the Torch line? I assumed you could choose between the normal virtual qwerty and SureType.
Hm, must've read incorrect information.

Bummer.

Ah. SureType still exists. OP is referring to SurePress, which is the click-screen technology exlusive to the Storm series

Thanks for clearing that up. I actually forgot and thought SureType was SurePess, LOL.
I miss my Storm 1, too bad I smashed it because I hated it that much.

Wow, I really need a Blackberry refresher course.
Android is starting to grow onto me.

Not to worry, there's been quite a few that have done the same, and I'd be lying if I said I've never mis-read one for the other even though I'm a former Storm2 owner.

I, for one, don't miss surepress at all.
At first I was OK with it but now it is a chore to type.
Just my two cents.
Good Luck

How the heck do you enjoy the surepress screen? I have a blackberry tour which I can't stand yet I can type 65+wpm on it. A friend had the storm2 with a busted screen/digitizer and so I decided to replace it...replaced it tonight but you have to click the screen for every key...wth! How do you manage to even type on it. For one you can't feel the keys, for two you have to press down hard enough that potentially you end up hitting other keys. I don't understand why you can highlight an icon with your thumb yet can't choose it unless you click down on the screen. The way I look at it is I potentially wasted 42$ and some time...thank goodness I did it all at work and got paid so it wasn't a total loss. If you have some advice let me know what it is...

I love my almost 2-year old Storm 2 and am not looking forward to losing the Sure Press whenever I upgrade to a new phone.

I agree totally, for me Surepress is one of the best things about my Storm 2, helps make typing on the virtual keyboard almost bearable.

Problem is it's gone and I want a change from my 2 year old BB, so I have to decide between a smaller screen w/keyboard (the "ultimate Surepress"); i.e. 9930 or a large screen with just a virtual; i.e. 9850/60.

It's hard to imagine typing on a touchscreen without surepress. I STILL have my original S2 and other than the slow browser haven't had any problems with it.

I'm probably gonna get the first 4G iPhone available though. Mainly because my daughter is deaf and as such, I have become immersed in that community and would like to be able to video chat. I'm sure my next device will offer me a lot of new features but I'm really gonna miss the familiarity of the S2, and BB OS as a whole. Surepress will definitely be missed. One of the best innovations in all of mobile technology .
