Default How to move from 9530 to 9550?

I received a 9550 free when a friend upgraded to 4G. I want to check out the phone for a while to see if I like it better. Can I just swap SIM cards or do I need to call Verizon and take my 9530 out of circulation and have them add the 9550?

Verizon doesn't use SIM cards. You have to either call Verizon or edit your account online to use the new phone. The ESN pf the new phone will have to be clean.

What is the card in the slot next to the SD card that says Verizon on the front and has a circuit trace on the back? Thought that was a SIM card?

It is but that is just for international use. Are you using it outside the US? If not my original reply stands.

I am in the US but travel internationally. OK, understand. It was actually pretty easy to use the Verizon website to make the switch. Only problem I am having is one POP account won't verify. Something changed since I got the 9530 and RIM can't figure out if it is a firewall setting with that ISP or something else. The ISP whitelisted all the RIM IP ranges and still no verification success.

Just started working this morning with no changes from RIM or my ISP...at least none they will admit to. So far, 1082 with BBTweaks hybrid is working well. Nice to see 130Mb memory compared to the 33Mb on my 9530. Battery seems about the same at 50% per day with mild use. I think I like the 9530 touch screen better but I am getting used to the 9550.
