how long to charge after draining battery
Please forgive me if this is a repeat post. I am a newbie with my Storm2 and tried looking all over for the answer to this.
So i got my storm 2 on Wednesday and have not let it run out of power yet, till last night any ways. I went out and got a bit drunk and for got to plug it in when I got home. Its now be charging for a little over and hour and still wont turn on. I tried holding down the red button and still nothing. there is an orange light blinking. Other than that nothing. what am I doing wrong or rather how long do they need to charge to turn back on? Also will It turn on by its self when ready or will I have to turn it on? Thanks for the help!Last edited by itschrome; 10-02-2010 at 02:45 PM.

I've hand my battery down under 5% before and I could still use it plugged in to the charger. Took about an hour to charge enough to turn on by itself.
Taking the world by Storm(2)!

It's not exactly labeled, I've seen more than a few people miss that one. Especially if their last BlackBerry used the End key like my last one did. Just so you know, if you hold that button it shuts off the device (naturally) and will power on automatically if you have the auto on/off set to enabled in Options. If you tap it the screen locks until you press it again. If your battery dies, you'll always have to power the device on manually via the power button, or pull the battery after it's been plugged in for a bit. And to answer your question about time to charge, usually it's about 2-3 hours with the wall charger, and 2-5 with USB cable (trickle charge). Mine will charge in about 2 hours with the wall charger, and 3 with USB.

It's because of the screen design, they really didn't have a choice because the static buttons are part of the entire screen. With the power off they won't respond to touch, so they had to relocate the top of the device to keep the basic design as the rest of their lines and still have a physical power button.

This'll make you feel better. Yesterday before I posted what happened when you held down the power button I did it on my phone just to make sure I wasn't making things up when I posted. And all afternoon I kept looking at my very quiet phone, wondering why it was sooo silent. Screen was off, but that's normal as I always hit the lock button. So many hours later when my wife decided to whip up a little something to eat I grabbed it and hit the lock button... which turned it back on. Oops.
