Default Help!

I'm not sure where to post this... but I'm sure someone on these forums can help me out!

I'm currently a Verizon Wireless customer, and I have never had a smartphone..

I've done some research, and I think I'm going to get the Blackberry Storm 2... but I'm not 100% sure it will work, I just wanted to check with some knowledgeable people before I spend my money.

Here are the 2 I'm looking at.

(16GB SD CARD INCLUDED) NEW BLACKBERRY 9550 STORM 2 VERIZON QWERTY SMART PHONE (843163050969) | eBay

NEW Verizon BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 GSM WORLD Smartphone WIFI (843163050969) | eBay

I read something about a sim card, and I'm pretty sure I don't have one of those, and I'm not sure if it is necessary for me to get one.

Please help me out, any information would be greatly appreciated.

If you're jumping into BlackBerry you probably want to start with something else. The best bet would be the Bold 9930, or if that's not in the cards then a Bold 9650 or even a Curve 9330 would be best.

Okay, I'll look into those... thanks. How do I know for sure it will work properly?

Yeah I would get a newer bb than the s2...What do you want out of a smartphone? Would you like a keyboard or touchscreen?

I want a touchscreen... I have an iPod touch and I love it. It's the only touchscreen I've ever used, and I've seen some smartphones that aren't as fast and accurate.. I guess I just don't want the touchscreen to be laggy.

But I text a lot on my phone, and I would like to play a limited amount of games for when I'm bored... but mostly I need to be able to check my email for school work, and having the twitter, facebook, etrade, weather, and other misc news apps would be nice.

any suggestions? hopefully this helps a little.

I have a storm and love it. However if you are used to typing on the iPod touch I don't think you are going to like the sure press keyboard on the storm 2. Like I said I love it but very one in my family uses an iPhone and none of them like typing on my blackberry. If you are so happy with your iPod touch why not just get an iPhone? It's a great device. Does everything very well and would replace your touch as well. I am sure someone here will have a problem with me recommending the iPhone but truthfully I think it's your best bet.

BTW I have a second storm 9550 that works perfectly and looks like it did the day I purchased it. My son used it for a few months then switched to the Bold. Now he has an iPhone 4s and thinks it's the best device out there. If you want to purchase a slightly used storm I'd sell it to you for $99. Once again I would probably get the iPhone but if your set on a storm 2 I would purchase it as cheap as I could.

Alright, I really want an Iphone, but I don't want to spend that much on a phone.

And thank you for the offer, I will most certainly keep you in mind and I'll be sure to let you know.

Nothing wrong with iPhones. You can pick up a 3GS or a 4 relatively cheap. Unless you're just determined to have a 4S, the 3GS is cheaper than the Storm2. My ex has a 3GS and it works fine - even with iOS5 on it.

I have a 4S and came from a Storm2. Still use my S2 some but not that much. The apps on my 4S plus the speed of my 4S run circles around my S2.

If you want touch screen, there is always the Torch. Verizon has that also.
