Have mail not download automatically?

Is there a way to have the phone NOT download mail until requested? Most of the time I would prefer to get mail on my computer.

Also - is it necessary to turn the phone off when removing the micro SD card?

for the email...... no. not if you have your email added to the bb. but what you can do is silent your device, and hide the email icon, and only check it when you want.
for the mem card....... no, but i would suggest powering off your device for safe removal.

You can set the email to save a copy on the server so that your computer will still get it.
