has build quality gotten better?

I have a mexico 5 S2 and the back button locking up is driving me nuts. Do you think the builds have gotten better since release? I am tempted since I have another 7 days to return mine to try a new one out. What do you think?

Mine's a Mexico 5 as well and it's been really solid to be honest. Stickiness of buttons about 2% of the time, which ain't bad in my book. I'm curious... did your stuck button get worse over time, or was it bad out of the box?

it has gotten worse. It also makes an annoying "squeek" when buttons are pushed compared to my wifes....

id swap it out. If you look at my latest post in the screen slant from cheechoz about me visiting the big V tonight, it seems like this latest batch all around are getting better (at least for the slant issue, maybe the click too).

Ditto, my 4th s2 has been awesome. It was the newset batch just sent out to the store. The Mexico and Hungary builds have been good from what I've been hearing. a lot of improvements have been made since the first few batches.

I'm planning on getting a storm 2 next week or the week after (probably the week after). Do the newer builds show up in stores first or will I get a newer build if I order online? I'd rather not deal with a mail in rebate, debit card or such and get online if possible.

Nope.

Storm2's are still a realtive POS. Sure you may get one that is fine, but the chance of getting a piece of crap are still to high.

He'll l no. After 3 lemons I went back to att for the 9700. What a sweet device.

3g browsing is faster than storm and it is zippier and built way more solid.

I am finally happy.

Wow you are getting to be just as annoying as bearkat. We get it you don't like the phone. You have said your piece now it is time for you to move on and leave. In case you didn't notice there are way more people here that like the device than dislike it. I can't wait till they put a rants and raves section subforum in here to filter some of this trash out.

Your probably the one everyone pulls their April fools jokes in then.

The reality is if you are satisfied with a device and the way it performs for you, why would you take the time to seek out a forum just to post about how well it works for you? If you have a question about a device and you pose that question to a community such as crackberry doesn't mean that you dislike a device. It just means you have a question about it. Then there is the trolls that had a bad experience with a device for whatever reason that keep coming back to a forum that is device specific and trying to convince people that like their decision to buy this phone that it was a bad one. That would be like me going into an import forum and bashing the Honda's because they are not mustangs. I don't do it because the people in those forums don't care that I like mustangs because of the finger pinching and cutting that Honda's have caused me over the years of working on them.
