Angry Has anyones screen done this?

Yeah monday I just got off work and was at the barbershop waiting to get my hair cut and when I went to hit end it felt weird. Low and behold I look at the screen and where I normally hit to end a call or program(sometimes) there was a crack that was the same shape as the tip of my thumb. well, went in to VZ store and the rep I talked to said no that shouldn't happen and took it back to her manager to look at and try to warranty it out...Nope, because it was "Not a known issue with RIM or VZ" he wouldn't warranty it. I pretty much didn't have the time to sit there and argue with the manager so paid the $50 insurance and had them order me a new S2. Should arrive today but I was wondering if anyone else had their screen do that along any edge of the screen. If so would you be able to post a pic if you have it or at least let me know. I highly doubt I would be the first one for this to happen to as the manager said it wasn't a known issue.

P.s. before anyone says hey you dropped it, it stays in a Body glove belt clip case on my uniform or on my desk while at work. Doesn't get too much wear and tear. I pretty much baby the thing for what I origionally paid for it and this happened. Its still my 1st one, Hungary 3 plant from the first run of S2's. Had the offset screen but still worked alright mechanically (minus a battery drain issue that I wont have to worry about anymore) up until the screen cracked after pressing it.

The only thing i would assume is you said you have it on a belt clip. Probably you leaned over and you touched the edge of a table and the pressure of that just cracked it. It happens to me when my S2 is in my pocket and I lean over something to hold me and I feel the phone pressing on the object and I ease it a little or I just dont keep it in my pocket. Things happen when you are busy and it just slipped your mind. Thats all I can think of.

That or you're The Thing and you need to not push the screen in so hard. The only time I've seen a crack like that on an S2 is when my Storm decided diving out of my hand and 4 feet onto concrete was better than answering an SMS. Except mine was the entire screen.

It seems to me nearly impossible to crack the screen like that with your thumb while in the case. Not even intentionally.

This must have happen in a special circumstance.

What I'm saying actually is that this is an isolated event and the odds that it ever happen again are likely very slim. You can enjoy your new device with confidence and a smile.

I've never seen this either. And I thought the insurance deductible was $89, not $50. How did you get such a low deductible?

well it could be an isolated incident then like yall said if folks haven't heard it happening before. And my deductible? thats all they charged me in the store, I didn't ask any questions why it was only $50, just paid it with a smile LOL.

Weird thing about the table idea is that the leading edges of the case extend about an 1/8th inch out from the face of the phone so unless it was a pinpoint pressure crack from a table then Id think that the case would take the brunt of it and the crack would have been significantly bigger if not the whole screen.

All in all its just weird how it cracked the way it did when i pressed down on the edge of the end.

    HULK LIKE PUNY CLICK PHONE.

EDIT: Wow that's interesting. I guess you can't do a full post in all capitals. It just punctuates it properly. I've never seen that on a forum before.

When I saw you say 'it's weird that it cracked when I pressed it' I picture the Hulk trying to use a Storm phone. It made me laugh...I guess posting it wasn't as clever as I thought.

I've read K2A somewhere on here with all the updated screen crap...I'm pretty sure that's one of the models that got the 'new screen' or those pads somewhere to make the screen click better.

Man your not alone on this, but I notice these carriers are getting worse, they will be quick to take your money but not as quick to resolve ur problem without hassle when you spend ur money being your with verizon they should help you knowing that the storm 2 screen is known for problems. After the storm 1 the storm 2 shouldn't be having problems with the screen like this and also they should take back ur phone it the screen is behaving not normal. My storm is getting a hard time just to exchange but its all good I'm not going to be spending my money on this phone until rim fix the screen where there's no complaints. This is crap they should of gotten it right by now. I really like the storm it works nice compare to my brick like iphone that has no feel when you touch it, 3 days using my storm I gotten attached to it. But good luck on ur other one the only problem is the screen goes bad way to easy or either to many phones got faulty in the making.

Well soo far so good with the new one 3g. In another thread I mentioned that the bottom edge of the screen isn't flush with the phone but not enough to cause concern. It is the new hardware date and by far I notice a big difference in screen response and feel. I had/have issues with the data transfer which from what I am hearing is pointed to me using a 3rd party theme.
