So I just got a text msg from Verizon that states the following...
Blackberry Event Oct 23-24 at your local store. Experts on hand and FREE phone offers - see store for details. To stop msgs, reply.
Could this be the announcement or release of the Storm 2? maybe.. but I duno..BlackBerry Storm 9530 - 5.0.0.428 Hybrid

They might just announce a date they are going to release it. I might go to my local store to see if they have a date this weekend

Hopefully they will announce the date. my money is on pre-orders start early november with a release mid-november.

Central, where are you seeing this? I was online and it still shows Tour @ $149 and Storm at $49
I don't know if this has anything to do with it, just went on VZW and the Storm 1 is now free and the Tour is now $99 online..

I got something in the mail yesterday, like a small postcard, inviting me to visit my local VZ store so they can answer any questions they may have and show me ways to better use my smartphone. No dates, no mention of new devices/phones.

My local VZW just said they get their shipments of new phones on Friday mornings ... and asked me to check back Friday afternoons.

Rochester, NY VZW already has their shipment of S2's in. I was told that they will be out before my 30 exchange is up (was told this last night after they had their hand-on of the s2) so if that is true. It should hit the floor before November 3rd
