Default Finally....

I realize that I am getting to Storm 2 for Verizon a little on the late side. But is there anything good out there to help me get the best experience on the Storm 2?

Thanks

Most people will suggest keeping your OS at .607 or .713, I prefer .428 as it was the last OS before the auto-suggest, blue-highlight bug was introduced. Don't try to install every app imaginable, the phone will bog down considerably and you'll end up having to down physical battery pulls more so than enjoying the actual phone.

Try not to get too speedy with your typing, the low RAM+slow processor+SurePress = major lag issues when typing.

Wow...So basically don't do anything to the phone and when typing just don't go too fast?

451 is another good leaked OS and 517 was a really good official from SaskTel. Keep the apps light. Blackberry Protect for OS5 is one I'd recommend.

If you need links for any of those, let me know.

Well from what I've noticed that's what has happened to me. But maybe I'm just a disgruntled Storm 2 owner and just ready to move on.

The phone appeals to some and not so much to others. I was just pointing out, what so many other have before me, what is factually wrong with it.

It's all in having the right os for your device. I have the official .607 and mine works great. When I had the original .320 os I had issues. I also agree with not having a ton of apps...I have around 15 or so and it's fine. I rarely have to do battery pulls but I keep my phone cleaned up as much as possible all the time. I own a business and do a lot of messaging and absolutely love the sure press keyboard. I can type as fast on mine as I could on any device I've had to date.

Blackberry Protect is found here (go to link on BB browser):

http://www.bb-mobile.com/file-bb/app...rryProtect.jad

The 5.0.0.517 OS can be found here:

Are you talking about the underlines on a word that's misspelled? Or the suggested words that come up as you type?

Yeah I think I read that its's a glitch in the OS and there's no way of fixing it!!

I just hit the ESC key when those pop up and I dont want it.

As for applications, I have a bunch, but the key ones are: Blackberry Protect, MemoryBoost, and App World.

I got my Storm 2 kind of late in the game too and I'll be honest, I love it just the way it is. It took some getting used to but the phone is fantastic. I'm running OS 5.0.0.713 and I have no issues at all. And I do EVERYTHING on my phone. I manage 3 blogs, twitter, facebook, get glue, 4 square, 3 calendars (2 google and 1 blackberry), Myspace, AIM, GTalk, PingChat etc etc. I'd be lost without my Storm. You're going to love it!

I liked the S2 more than my 8330.. I sold it to another forum member when I bought my Droid. It actually went to another person after that person jumped to the iPhone. Had RIM/Verizon shown more love, and care, I would still use it, today
