    Exclamation EDGE and GSM

I bought an unlocked blackberry storm 2 that was originally for feria on and I put my t mobile sim card in it and it's been working fine with t mobile and a couple of days ago I noticed that it doesn't say EDGE by the service bars on the top right corner but it says GSM and ever since then I've only been able to get calls, get texts, call people, and send texts. I can't use the Internet or anything else that requires data service. It says "You are currently in an area that can't handle data communication. As a result, the browser cannon retrieve any web pages. Please try again when you areninna different location, of contact your service provider if the problem consists." I have the unlimited plan with t mobile and when I called them and asked them what it meant they told me I've used up all my data and that theres nothing they can do. Could someone please tell me how to fix this, or explain to me exactly what this means and why it can't be fixed.

Ask T-Mobile for their APN settings for their network, and then change the setting on your phone under TCP settings in the options-advanced options. Also try turning off your data settings for roaming in your connection settings. These two things may have contributed to you using up data on your plan? Give those a try.

First call T-Mobile support and ask if everything is fine with your Blackberry Data plan.
Then, Ask to update your service books and then set the VPN settings.

    Try this:

    Go to Manage Connections.

    >Mobile Network Options

    >Network Selection Mode: MANUAL

    >Choose Available Networks

From here, choose any other Networks. (Other than the one you are currently using). I recommend choosing a Network which you think has the best signal/coverage. Choose other network for a while (you will get SOS). Leave it for a few seconds. After that, choose your Network again.

    Hope this helps.
