Duplicate Entries in Contacts

I have many, many duplicate entries in my contacts. They just seem to appear. One name was in the contacts over 20 times.

How do I stop these duplicate entries and also, how do I get rid of the duplicates???

I would say to STOP using wireless sync until your contact list is corrected. Delete all contacts from the blackberry and then enable your wireless sync. This should resolve the duplicates.

Do you have Google Sync or Facebook connected to your contact lists? I've found both of these apps seemed to cause havoc with my contact lists (duplicates, incomplete entries, etc.) and once I adjusted their settings so that they did not communicate with the contact list, everything was normal.

I bought Contacts Cleaner and it works fine! Don't buy Address Book Contact cleaner. It freezes while merging contacts without phone number (email contacts).

Last night I got a message from BB that my BIS contact wireless sync was disabled and that I needed to go in contacts, options and enable it. It was enabled . So I decided to disable it, save the setting, and enable it. I also resent my service books.

Well I should have left it alone because all of my contacts duplicated themselves.
