Do S1 users have the option to do trade ins for S2?
I know there were rumors of that but since its out now can anyone squash that rumor for me or at least have any info on whether S1 users get any discount or would we have to buy a whole new storm at full price?

There was a rumor that there might be some sort of voucher or something along those lines for S1 owners, but I haven't seen any confirmation of that. And since when is it out?

My car....
Oh, wait. Everyone does car comparisons.Scan the barcode for my Droid's PIN number. I recommend "Bar Code Scanner" since it seems to work real well.

OP: If you have a line that's eligible for an annual or NE2 upgrade you can upgrade on launch day that way. Or you can wait 24 days (assuming you purchased your 9530 on 11/21/08.) If you purchased it more recently you'll be kindly reminded that VZW offers a 30 day return period if you're not happy with your phone. They're not likely to offer you anything that you're not normally entitled to.
"Waitress this steak is horrible."
"But sir, you've eaten 2/3 of it."
"Well it still sucks, I want a new one."
That's about the same mentality IMO.

What's so wrong with S1 that makes us so entitled to get a free upgrade or special discount? With .323 OS the phone is working much better and you can do anything the Storm was meant to do. Verizon does not owe us a thing. I think I will keep mine for a while longer.

Okay, I'm putting on my asbestos underwear. No, I do not have a sense of entitlement at all. I have an S1 and it's been okay. I will be very happy when we can get the official upgrade. Some of us just don't/won't/can't do leaks for one reason or another. And in the end, why should we have to? I won't be asking for a new phone, but would be really jazzed if VZW offers some incentive out of two years with this phone, or one more year in my case.
It is known that the S1 had a lot of problems for many people. I know Verizon is in the business to make money and I'm glad that they are so we can enjoy network upgrades and services. But, if a company puts out a product that has been not performed as expected, would it be a good idea to reward customer loyalty (feeling the flames now) by offering a little something to entice us to a new, and hopefully less problematical, phone? I'm really naive and perhaps all these less-than-well behaved phones aren't costing them enough customers and money to bother with.
I've been with Verizon since the beginning and have never asked for a credit for phone or data outages. I have never asked for a "deal," but I have spent quite a few hours with CS, both in stores and on the phone for them to get my phone straightened out. In their defense, it ended up being an internal error and it finally took a very nice Mr. Shepherd in Salt Lake City to figure it out after not having data services at least three days out of every month. At least I hope it's figured out!
In the past, I'm sure we've all had phones that were clunkers. But, we weren't paying very much for them...they almost seemed expendable. But, when you drop big bucks on a smarthphone, you expect it be, well, pretty smart. I guess Verizon would have to admit that the Storm was not all it should have been to offer any incentives to us early adopters. I suppose it's just part of wanting the newest thing; sometimes it works out, and sometimes it doesn't.Those aren't gray hairs; those are "stress highlights." -

your f*cking SOL son
Want the phone bad enough? Sell current Storm and pony up the rest. (Unlock it and you'll get about 200 for it...maybe). Maybe you might be eligible for a 1 year price if you bought the OG Storm in Nov.GOD'S IN HIS HEAVEN, ALL'S RIGHT WITH THE WORLD - 10-24-2009, 11:39 AM #14
I have to agree with most here. Verizon isn't given nothing. Get ready to cough up some dough. Keep in mind us here on crackberry know about the problems but not everyone does. If verizon gave a discount to all storm owners a dis count then someone tells a friend and look at all the money vz loses.
It doesn't hurt to ask but don't expect it.
Imo

Not quite the same...
Actually, it would be more lke this:
"Waitress, this steak is horrible."
"I'm sorry, Sir, but if you just want to eat it for now I'll fix it for you soon."
... (months later) "Here is some Orange Sauce that will make it better."
"But, even after applying the new OS, it is still pretty bad."
"Sorry, Sir, I'll get you an even better sauce. While you're waiting, you can try looking online for some homemade sauce. It will be GREAT after applying the new sauce, so just keep eating and I'll be right back..."
