    Default ?delete vendor.xml file

I want to install the latest OS for my Verizon 9550 (running 428 at present and having screen freeze issues). I used Desktop Manager to upgrade initially from 320 and didn't have to delete any files. How do I delete the vendor.xml file once I download the latest OS to my PC?

When installing .428 I deleted it on mine but forgot to on my wife's. There doesn't seem to be any difference in performance.

You guys probably have the carrier the OS was designed for

    example:
You download a Verizon release and put it on your Verizon phone. That will work fine without deleting Vendor.xml

Would not deleting cause the screen to freeze as in going from the 320 to the 428? It didn't start freezing until a month after the upgrade.

Unless it's an official release from your provider, you should always delete the vendor.xml file. I even delete it when it is an official release...habit. However, not deleting it would not cause your screen to freeze. That problem is most likely related to an app you installed just before the screen started freezing, or a database that has become corrupted. If you had not installed any new apps, I'd recommend installing the new OS without restoring any of your data, then re-sync your contacts (through Outlook or wherever you sync your contacts) and reinstall any third party apps from fresh OTA downloads. That will give you a clean set of databases on your phone.
