If we even know about it by then. It would seem that Verizon is getting better at keeping secrets.

They are more worried about what is their top seller. Which is the over hyped droids.

I really can't wait, since it seem like the reviews of the leaked version are pretty awesome. I'm most anticipating the allegedly improved copy/pasting, because right now trying to highlight with the touch screen is irritating to say the least and frustrating as best.

The leaked OS has nothing to do with the big red... unless you are talking about the official one... however who cares about that when the leaked OS works so well

I think RIM/Verizon leak these O/S and then monitors the problems people are having so they can tweak it a bit before they give it the "official" OK.

no they dont, there is no 'tweaking'.....once an OS is done that its and any change is a new build. And the builds we see are generally old news to RIM. they are many builds ahead by the time these leaks surface.

So if .428 is leaked and has a few glitches, wouldn't RIM/Verizon fix those issues, call it .445 (for instance) and release it officially? How do they make their final decision on what to release officially?

VZW would have a set test plan that they send the OS thru and if it fails that then obviously they would release it and move onto another build until they are satisfied with the release. That was the way it used to be and it took a couple weeks also

Now 328 was released in a complete rush. They got the build on a thursday morning and annouced the release for sunday and it was released. Obviously they didnt test it worth **** and you can tell because of the problems with it. No OS is bug free but some obivious bugs exist in 328 that should never be in an official.

So what VZW will do next is up in the air, they may test an OS thoroughly like before and decide on an official or just test a couple things and rush one out. we will see. Every OS has fixes but also seems to break crap too so you cant really just test, fix, then test to see if that is fixed and not check the other stuff. That is basically what happened with 328 perhaps

Is there testing that strick, or are the os's that bad? Because they don't seem to be in a big hurry until they get a lot of complaints..
