.428 contact bug?

I have my contacts synced with my gmail account and since installing the latest leak, my contacts have become buggy. Some names will appear multiple times and the contact info will be replaced with a different person's.

Has anybody else experienced this?

its happened to me twice now. after the first time i went through and fixed them all and then exported them all to have a copy. so this last time i just deleted all my contacts then imported the list again.

Do you guys use google sync? The google sync and the google tool app both makes copies of your contacts. So you end up with double entries.

something with google sync app or thru BIS is screwy. I know i saw before how it maligns eh contact info just like you describe. I tried it once ended up with contacts times 3x and said screw it. outlook has always worked perfectly for me since i have hotmail anyway

FWIW, I use the gmail contact sync integrated in BIS 2.8, not the sync app. Since installing .428 I've added and deleted contacts both on the device and on the Mac. Sync works perfectly and I've had no duplicates, swapped entries, or other problems. I might suggest that if you're using the same configuration and having problems, first, ensure in contacts->options that you have the device set to not allow duplicates. You might also run a backup in DM, delete the Gmail account from your carrier's BIS page, then readd it. On the device go into email setup, login to BIS, and you should immediately be prompted to initiate the sync. Once that runs, restore your messages DB only from your backup in DM (Backup/Restore->Advanced).

Maybe i did a poor job describing my problem. I'll have multiple contacts of the same person, but it'll have a different contact's information in it.

That was the same problem I had. Say John Doe's number was there, but his info was on Jane Doe's as well. I had 3 people with the same names but when you opened up the name it was different. I went back to .320, the battery was getting drained in my opinion with the newer firmware. I loved the text having the letter visible above the key when pressing and the screen felt 10X better. Ill just wait for the official release.
