Default 3G in Latin America?

Hello, I am looking to purchase a Blackberry Storm 2 (9550)

I am looking at a couple of unlocked phones that were originally from verizon.

My question is, will I be able to access data at 3G speeds in Latina America (Specifically Panama).

This is all the info I could find from my carrier which is Cable & Wireless.

BlackBerry
Frecuencia GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 Mhz,

Please help me...im a NOOB! But I know there are alot of knowledgeable people in these forums!

From my research the storm should access those GSM frequencies, but will that give me 3G speed or is that only for EDGE?

Thanks

You need to know which bands your cell provider has, some use 900(3G) others use 1900(3G) I believe Verizon use 900, not pretty sure about that
