Given the fact that tethering costs money and a wireless modem costs money, why would you tether??
Wouldn't the modem be faster?

I tether all the time. I don't want a separate service for an air card so I just use my bb. Simple and easy. Oh, and my storm charges while I'm tethered so its a win win for me.

Ok, I guess that makes sense. I used my laptop separate from my phone.
Thanks.
