why does my gmail email keep coming in as new over and over even after i delete it?

i seem to he having a very strange problem. i am using gmail imap and i was under the impression i set everything up correctly, but for whatever reason every time i get an email, i delete it, the next time i get a new email, it comes in with the new email and the old email that i already deleted previously (as new again).

this is really annoying? i am not certain which particular setup is causing this to occur?

i am thinking it is either a setup issue within GMAIL, or a setup issue with regard to gmail on the bb verizon bis setup?

any ideas??

Have you modified any of the settings for your email on the Blackberry other than adding the email addresses to the phone?

If not, I'd think that it's more likely to be an issue with your Gmail settings.

Make sure the deleted items sync is enabled in the BIS profile; barring that, I'd say try deleting the account from BIS and adding it again.

I'm thinkin something is just being goofy right now.
I just had the same problem a few minutes ago.
I finally deleted the email on my BB and checked it on my laptop.
