    What is the difference in setting permissions or not? I am unsure of what to do when I download apps.

    Change setting permission from custom to allow all insures that whatever apps you're downloading works correctly

    Does it change the correct settings for you if you click "allow?"

    Yes it does or you can do it manually..

    Option > Advanced Options > Application> highlight any app > Menu > Edit Default Permissions
