its impossible unless your phone is unlocked with a att sim in it.

It is not impossible, your phone will connect to the strongest network if it can't find verizon. However it will say SOS and can be only used for emergency calls.

Hmm, I have an AT&T SIM for my other phone, and wondered if it would be cool to have it in this phone for full coverage.

You'd have to manually change between CDMA and GSM though, wouldn't you?
