hold down the bb button for 2 seconds and a pop up will appear. click the app u want to shutdown and it will take u to it, hit bb button scroll down to close. this usually works for me but some apps are stubborn like yahoo messanger.

    ^^^^what he said....

the five programs that will always run are: phone, messages, home, browser, and messenger.

get in the habit of clicking the BB key and close every time you want to exit something...

For some reason.. for me I have 6 alway on with the 6th app being Application Center. And when I try to click on it, it doesn't do anything, i.e. I can't get to it so I can close it.

when you first launch application center it ask's if you want it to automatically check for updates. If you clicked YES then it stays open all the time.. I have not found a way to turn that feature off however when I reloaded the os and it asked that question again I clicked NO now I can close open and check for updates without it running all the time

i had the same problem and had to did what you did...

but i later figured out, while in the app. center click the BB key and uncheck the "auto refresh list" option. you can manually refresh it any time in the same list
