I like gmail because it doesn't put an ad at the end of all your emails.
Also, I think this is only a gmail-bb feature - emails you read on your bb are automatically marked as read in your gmail inbox.
I've been using Gmail for a while now and my Gmail account does not automatically mark the emails I read on my Storm as read on my Gmail inbox unless I use the Gmail App?? hmm..
Gmail does have the issue of duplicating messages since it is logged as a "conversation" instead of seperate emails, but for those reading this you can set up a filter to correct that problem.
I use gmail, aol and the bb email and they all work for me.
I think he was saying that he had gotten it figured out thanks to crackberry, if not here's a link to set up a filter for anyone that happens to be looking through this thread and needing that fix.
Just go to m.google.com/mail on your BB browser and follow the instructions or you can go to gmail.com and click on the link that says get the gmail app on your phone and put in your mobile number and follow those instructions.
I was just wondering which one worked best. I have problems with yahoo just being slow sometimes so I was wondering if there was something better out there.
I use Gmail with the GMail application, work pretty good. Gave up on Yahoo along time ago.
I also use the built-in BB application for use with my standard POP3 Accounts.
Scalemaster-Do you have any trouble with delay on getting your messages through the Gmail app? I used it in conjunction with the account set up on my BB for a bit but it was way behind or I had to refresh constantly to get my mail to come through. Didn't know if maybe I had a setting off or if that was just how it was?
Why are you picking an email account to go with your blackberry. Shouldn't any email account you already have work with your berry?
Most often the Blackberry address is linked to the carrier for the device... In this world of changing carriers being locked to an email address that will go bye bye when you switch carriers isnt cool. Same as people that your @comcast.net or @verizon.net email address from their cable and phone companies.
A stand alone email address is always a good idea. Gmail works well, and with the update to BIS you can get true IMAP support.

What BIS update is this? Is this something coming soon that will allow imap folders?

There is a delay when using gmail app, however no delay when setup to receive gmail directly on bb through imap.
