I dropped my Storm in a muddy puddle in the country about five months ago. It was only partly submerged and for no more than a second and everything is fine apart from the fact that since then the down volume button doesn't work.

Does anyone know if it'd be safe to try and clean under the button myself to see if that helps and how such a thing might be done?

    Thanks.

are you tech savy? have you ever taken apart phones before? mostly likely that part of the board is fried. or ribbon. look for a disassemble guide. most likely it might be the ribbon or the port that connects the ribbon. heres a video if you feel up to the challenge.

Parts are easy to get if you have the funds for it.

Cellular Nationwide Network - 3G, Sony, Panasonic, LG, SonyEricsson, Nokia, Tools, BlackBerry, is one site which has a selection, pretty expensive. But its located in china so its going to take some time to get to you. Or you can check ebay.
