I was able to get the Vodafone version to work on Verizons, by manually creating the install package. And for those of you with the pics or it didn't happen, here you go.
Seems to be working fine. I am still waiting for it to reboot after the battery pull. All I did on the initial boot was get the screen shot. Ok it is back up. I can say the Lag on switching from Landscape to Portrait is definitely quicker than .75. It seems to be about the same as portrait to landscape
Ok found a couple of issues that I need to figure a way around. The way it installed, I am unable to remove things such as VZNav, and Visual Voicemail. Minor problem, but need to figure out how to get those files gone.
Can you walk us through? Is uninstalling the only problem you have, because I don't care about that...
As of right now, yes removing of those items is my only problem. Everything is running fine so far. As far as posting instructions, I will do this. I just want to make sure everything still seems to function, before Igo and tell a bunch of people how to do it.
to see if it's better than .75 for Verizon. Pic isn't working for me, but would def like to hear more about this!
It will work fine. The two phones hardware is EXACTLY the same. You shouldn't need to do much more the delete the vendor.XML file. I have installed dozens of foreign OS versions on my curve, 8700, all the way back to the 957 days!

Yes the install files are exactly the same between the 9500, and the 9530. Ok its quite simple to do if you want to try this. I installed on my computer the 75 Verizon version, I then installed the 78 from Vodafone. Simply copy the Java directory from the Vodafone release, and paste it in the 75 directory. Reinstall the OS, but this time with the 78 file. Pull battery and enjoy 78.
Your platform is still 4.0.0.94, which is what was in .75.
The platform in the vodaphone release should be 4.0.0.98. and the phones are not completely the same.
If they were there would be one model.
Good catch on the Platform. I need to figure that out. And yes the phones are exactly the same as far as hardware goes. The 9500 just does not enable the CDMA radio information.
Also, what improvements have you seen in your short time using the new OS?
No, I did a wipe and installed everything clean. The reason I could not remove VZNav is it wasn't truly installed. It was just the link to the OTA install. Really the only improvement that I have seen thus far is it is a little quicker. Not just with the portrait to landscape, but it seems to be quicker through the normal transitions.
Come on man, why do you have to be a LIAR? The platform on .78 is 4.0.0.98 not .94 like you have on your screen shot. Get a life.
Hey look you provide a lot of information. But that is no reason to be an ***. I am not lying. I posted what I did. For some reason the platform remained at the 75 level. If you look I admitted that was wrong. This is not a photoshop, anyone who doesnt believe go ahead and try the what I did and see what you get. And CX, dont be a ***.
