My Storm is not powering up all of a sudden. It was working fine this afternoon and when I took it out of my pocket the BACK button triggered the camera. Very strange. I pulled the battery and now it either blinks the red light very slowly or goes to a black screen with the "wait" clock icon.

Any ideas on how to handle this?

Make sure it is charged. Try using the wall charger and let it sit a bit. Then try to start it up. Try a few more resets.

i don't see what could have caused it, but you may have to reload the OS.

Is this the only strange occurrence recently? Anything else? Download any apps, OSs, etc?

Battery was at least 3/4 full, but it's been plugged in for over an hour and still staring at me with the clock icon ticking away.

No changes, no new apps, nothing out of the ordinary lately.

Im no expert on the issue by any means but it sounds a lot like you are going to have to reload your OS. That may not work but it's definitely worth a try.
