Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com | You've obviously come into the discussion late and didn't read the many threads that have been posted about this, because if you did you'd know that there are LOTS of people that "give a crap" over this and that it DOES, in fact, matter. Thus, welcome, Rip Van Winkle.
And you are aware that there is no way to permanently "delete" these pushed icons, right?

| Is it annoying, yeah; do I like it, no; would I like it if they stopped, heck yeah.
Per the agreement that we ALL as Verizon customers consented to.... deal with it.

Don't you think the iPhone and Apple deserve most of the credit when it comes to those things?(unlocking GPS, and giving us WIFI...not Seattle rain...)
I'd say that Steve Jobs and Co forced more change than any number of people on this forum could have dreamt for. We can scream and shout all we want, but until our dollars start moving into another direction, they pretty much shrug it off. Market competition forces them to change, not nagging.
It's kind of how your girlfriend wants you to do something and you loaf around and never get to it, and then you see that someone else has her eye and all of a sudden you want to shape up and do everything she says. Why is that? Fear. Loss. Competition... you no longer feel desireable so you do those things that have been asked of you for so long because you think it will make her want you again. | lol, I don't think I quite understand your logic here, but one thing's for sure... my gf and I do things to/for each other... and I don't have to worry about her eyes wondering. |

EDIT: I'm sure you understood that part so sorry for going on and on...

we appreciate you not being long winded....
that reminds me of a story!
so once upon a time there was this guy, right? i think his name was steve.....yeah steve hunt....or was it mike?
anyway, this guy, we'll call him steve, walks into a bar...sitting at the end of the bar is the most beautiful woman he's ever seen in his life...so steve goes over to the bar, sits somewhere around the middle of the counter...and he calls over to the bartender. "what can i get you?" the bartender asks steve. "i'd like a beer, and whatever the woman at the end would like. it's on me." the bartender delivers the drink to the beautiful woman, and she asks who it's from, the bartender points to steve sitting down a ways, he looks over and smiles....the woman smiles, then looks down at her drink playing bashful...steve gets up to walk down to talk to the woman, and at that moment, a chicken and a gorilla walk into the bar
the gorilla says ouch.

I think the main thing that Civic is trying to say is don't force things onto people. If the general public cannot find these apps then that is there problem. But i don't think its about helping the public, it about making money that what big corporations do. If the Verizon was into helping people then why don't they help people with voicemail passwords (making it easier to enter your password automatically, and why do they charge to transfer your contacts unless you buy a new phone. Yah they are all about money.......not helping people!
To all the people who think hiding the icons is great, thats nice for you............Now have your mom come wipe your a**, then grow up, move out of her basement and go play in traffic. If we wanted to hide the icons this thread wouldn't have been started. I hope stupid people get punched in the face........i.e. people talking about deleting these VLPs, because they can't be deleted.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com | Guess what? As one of the posts above shows, it is in your Terms of Service that things such as icons being pushed MIGHT happen. And you agree to their TOS when you sign the contract. So, annoying as it might be, they are perfectly within their legal rights to do so. Hide the icon, and don't worry about the 1KB of memory it might take up. OR, pay the ETF and get out of your contract. Legally, this is your only option.
