Were working pretty hard to confirm this right now, but its too exciting to post, and falls in line with what has been reported recently on the blogs. A friendly tipster has been telling us that Verizon has settled on a firm launch date for the BlackBerry Storm 9530: November 4th. This would put the Storm launch two days after Verizon employees complete their Storm training, and right in line with famed rumor-monger Boy Genius first week of November time time line.
This is exciting news! That means the first touchscreen BlackBerry is almost exactly one month away. Too good to be true? Well do our best to find out for you.
That would be great but I am not getting my hopes up. Plus another post from a guy here said he lives next to a verizon employee that has one and its not out till close to turkey day
I would agree with Blackberry Cool's website. But just some extra info, pre Order will begin October 24th on Telesales dept.... Just some inside info.... but I know you believe it hen you see it.

This is HIGHLY doubtful. Why would VZW release this device on the day of the biggest election in recent history? Come on, now. I am not even majoring in marketing and I can tell you that's a bad move.

Agreed, agreed, agreed.
I DID major in marketing, and I can tell you this date would be a disaster. It would be like cupid launching a new line of arrows on halloween. Pfft.

Haha, yeah. If Verizon wants hype for this phone, I would launch it before, not on or after, the election. After the election the news will be a clusterfu*k anyways. Before it, even the 1st or 2nd, is a better time. I really think this rumor is null and void.
The only thing is... how does the launch of a phone device fall in the same competitive realm of a presidential election? They don't coincide. People are going to be occupied with the election yes, but it's not like they won't want to buy a phone because of it. It's FREE to vote.
Also if it becomes available first thru online and phone sales the first week of November, the people who will be buying it are the ones like us who have known about it for awhile now. The real marketing will likely not happen until the phone becomes available in stores.
From what I can tell, Verizon reps are just as clueless as the rest of us. I was on the phone with a technician because I needed help with something. And when I was done talking about the problem, she goes, "Is there anything else I can help you with." So I thought I'd take a chance and ask about the Storm. She said, "Well, it's an all touchscreen Blackberry device." And I asked if she knew when it would be released. So I heard her type a little bit and she told me that it wasn't available yet, but they were definitely getting it. So I asked when. So she proceeded to search through her computer for a good 2 or 3 minutes before finally telling me she couldn't find a release date. So either she was pretending to be clueless, she really was clueless, or there just isn't a release date yet.

The two are not in the same realm, but as far as publicity goes, the Storm will get NOTHING. The iPhone was able to bask in the 6 o'clock news glory when it came out. The Storm will be met with no fanfare if it is released on Election Day. That is just common sense.
Hmm, I think we will absentee vote so we can eagerly await the FedEx guy to deliver my new Storm that I ordered on the 24th! ! I Have a PLAN!!!

Maybe their giving them away at the polls. Vote for president get a Blackberry Storm. Millions of people will rush to the polls to vote. What a great incentive! HEHE
From what trusted insiders have said, *cough, cough* Kevin Byrne, the release should be between Nov 1-3rd. I'm inclined to believe him. Also the fact that you're supposedly going to be able to order it from telesales in the last 1 or 2 weeks of Oct.
