    My sony Vaio VGN-FW495J Laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium (all upgraded to latest Windows updates) has trouble detecting that my Blackberry Storm (1) is connected. In fact it has only detected it once in my many attempts to connect it using the standard Blackberry USB cable. And yes, I am running the latest version of the Blackberry Device Manager, and the latest version of the Blackberry system SW. Any thoughts?

    Does your computer recognize your memory card or does it ignore your phone all together?

    Are you sure your cable is working correctly? Have you been able to use the cable on another computer? I had the same thing happen when one of my cables went bad. The other one still worked and when I purchased another, it also worked.

    Turns out it probably was the cable - I used my shortest USB cable and now the Vaio detects the Storm - - -
