Ive found that when typing a number out, such as giving a friend a phone number, I have to press the numbers button on the bottom-left before typing out each number, which gets annoying at times. is there a way around this?

Hold the key for a few seconds to lock it in number mode. Same for Caps.

Hold down the 123 key for a couple seconds and it will lock. Then, when you're done, hit it again and it will go back to letter keyboard.
