"4. Touch: If the rumours and speculation are true, RIM could be the first cellphone company in the world to release a device which stands out as a legitimate threat to the iPhone. The touch screen Thunder and touch-slider Storm, both of which are expected to be announced before the end of the year, could prove to be landmark devices for RIM and open up the BlackBerry brand to a bevy of new users. "
I never heard anything about a Storm (verizon) slider touchscreen.
That was posted up a while ago. I don't think that is a step in the right direction for this device. I think the button screen will give you everything that you could ask for from a keyboard. this thing is gonna kick the iPhones but.
I personally would rather have a touch screen slider over a full touch only, but def some nice phones coming out in the future.
Having the option to do both would be amazing. I think it would make people feel more secure just in case the touch screen typing isn't their thing, but everything else is just fine with the touchscreen. However, just because this phone doesn't have a slide out keyboard, doesn't keep me from wanting it badly!
While I was getting a damaged 8830 replaced and info transfered, I was informed that a new touch screen was being released this November. It's to have a better screen res. than the iphone. It is also supposed to have new software for better compatability with other programs. It is also a world edition; which totally rocks since I'm military. Oh! the rep also said it will have a camera.
