Default Thunder to have SIM card slot?

I don't get it... Is it just me or is the Thunder said to have a sim card slot? I am a T-mo user so doesn't that mean if I get it unlocked from Verizon I can just stick my SIM in and off I go or will it only be locked to Verizon subscribers and why would Verizon offer a phone with a SIM card slot when correct me if I'm wrong but I thought CDMA phones don't use a SIM card?

the thunder will have gsm bands to use overseas. you won't be able to get GSM service with it in the states. also, if they do what they did with the 8830 the sim slot will be locked out of the box although verizon would give you the unlock code if you paid full retail (or you could get it unlocked through a 3rd party).

You're right. VZW = CDMA, but they put, as previously stated, the sim slot is for global travel.

Thunder will be a World device, such as the 8830, allowing for roaming on services globally.

It'll have the 900/1800 GSM bands only so won't work in North America.

Absolutely not. You must have Verizon in the U.S. or Vodaphone in Europe. It doesn't have the U.S. GSM frequencies, only the European.
