I got one for myself and one for my wife.mine is defently different than hers.mine has more travel in the corners and feels much smoother. hers is fine in the center and does work in the corners, but you have to push harder and it doesent go down as far. does this sound like one of the bad ones? If it is can it be exchanged in the corparte store where we purchased them (of course when thwy have them)

Okay that is a stretch (the rigidity) of the material. How could you possibly know the material that those plate are made out of, or far more importantly the thickness of the plates. If I can figure out the thickness, mounting points, and material of the plate I would be willing to perform FEA analysis on the part to determine detailed deflection information.

I ripped a business card in half. Then folded width wise. Then folded length wise. Then I put it ON TOP of the battery in the center of battery. The phone clicks better than if it were new most likely now. Although I did go into the store and test both demo models and both of them click fine all over. I spoke to manager and he said to call every Monday to see if they have more, but the only verified date they have right now is the 15th of Dec.

Any chance we can get markings / numbers from the boxes that identify the different variants as to avoid the older versions?

If anyone wants to check to see if theirs is the older style...i say just head over to the store and check the display models out...bottom line is that the edges of the screen should feel the same as the middle...which is what i found when i tried out the store models...Verizon needs to replace the units...and fast!

my corner closest to the green phone sucks. If i slight pressure on the opposite corner it clicks great but if you just touch it normally you have to hammer it!

I am calling VZ tonight

If you slide your finger down on the keyboard then it will hide. Maybe that's what you're doing.

i have this problem typing in all areas, not just sms.

i think the issue is that as your finger slides around the keyboard, it stays in contact or close to the screen which the capactince screen is picking up. so when you go from the top letter like T to a lower letter below it like B, it close the keyboard.

SO ANNOYING!

it happens to be all the time.....

Angry

I called because mine is doing the same thing and they treated me like I did not know what I was talking about and kept telling me that there is a software update next week. It came down to them telling me that I need to wait for the software update!! I asked there special technician how software has anything to do with hardware and he insisted that it would work. Some people need to be shot!!

What line are you guys calling up at Verizon to inform them of this problem with the phone? Just the regular customer service line? Mine is doing this is as well... the lower right corner is horrible to push down, got a temp fix with a piece of cardboard in the phone right now.

I had the same problem with CS. I finally asked the guy how much he knew about the device and said he is very up on the phone, I was like you really dont know what the F youre talking about. This is a hardware issue!!!!! I told him I am taking it to the store maybe they will be more useful. Dude was a total jackass, kept telling me its software. Last time i looked the giant button is a "physical" piece of the phone!!!!!!
