For me, it's specifically the lower left hand amd lower right hand corner. You really have to press down hard and it barely "clicks."

Hopeing the new phone does not have the same issue.
MerlynNY: Can you keep your current storm until the new one comes or do you have to ship back the one you have now?

No. I've been instructed to send it back (box and all) when the new phone comes in.

Yes, most certainly. The Verizon Tech rep I spoke to searched for any documentation on this problem, and once he could not find anything, he told me he was going to have a new phone shipped to me by December 15th, and once I received that I was to take the pre-paid package slip send the old phone back (box and all) to Verizon.

I was also informed not to cut out the CPU code or anything on the box to send in for a rebate. I was told to hold off on sending in the rebate and to use the new box CPU if necessary (don't know why, but I'll wait...).

I'm guessing not too many folks are calling in on this if the Verizon Rep looked for documentation of this problem and turned up nothing. He could have been jerking me around, but I didn't get that feeling, and he searched for quite a while.

If more folks are having this issue, then they should certainly call in and get a new phone.

Probably would be a good idea if this was stickied, in case others are having similar issues.

This is certainly interesting. I doesn't immediately seem like the extra material would increase the stiffness of the device. Perhaps I will do some FEA analysis on a mockup a little later.

A bit of a folded up business card works as well. Cant believe how much of an improvement this makes.

Any idea if this is specific to devices made in a specific country?

Canada or mexico?

Might help narrow things down.

mine is made in canada and my corners are harder that heck to click on. I was also able to get mine shipped to me on the 22nd no later than 12 noon...before all the hoopla about later shipping dates.

Can you post a picture of how you have arranged the business card in the device? Did you put it behind the battery or on top of it?

Default Look at the difference...

Here is another comparison...as you can see there is A LOT more material on the newer (Left). From the looks of it...i'd say they are different materials too...the newer one looks to be made of a more rigid alloy. And check out the center dimple! It looks COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!

Do we think there's anything hazardous that can come of putting something under the battery? I put a piece of duct tape (stuck to itself, not to the device) but just nervous its gonna overheat or something!!
