there are a number of threads revolving around this, and similarly, a number of tools that are available, both commercially, and in the open source world that allow you to convert existing video to a form that is Storm friendly.
"installing" them is as simple as copying the video file to your media card via a card reader or the handy mass-storage mode.

Exactly. Use the Roxio Media Manager and you're set. It will convert avi's to MPEG or whatever the format is. And there are tons of places to get movies or TV shows, but depends on how you want to get them.
Describing it as a massive pain is relative. I insert a dvd, make about 5-6 mouse clicks, wait a while; and then move the output file to my Storm. Not really that much of a pain. The trick is getting the right program so that it can do the work for you
Hopefully I'm not breaking any rules on the forum by saying this, but just download movies/shows you already have or own. You're going to rip them anyways, just use something someone else has done, unless bandwidth is a problem.
Hate to be annoying but could you pm too! Do you think the ability to download a movie with just one click will be coming in the future. Thanks so much!
