I'm just curious if there's any way you can see a number of how many SMS messages that are currently on your phone. I have mine set to not delete messages, simply because I wanted to see how many I would accumulate in a month or so time.

so is there something on the phone itself to do this? maybe an app? or would i have to actually go in and count every one of them?

I think if you go to options > status >bb button database sizes it counts but I'm not sure

or you could just check your Monthly bill, that will show you the number of messages.

I believe #DATA will also do it. So if you call it right before it resets for the month, it will include a count of text messages sent/received. Otherwise you can log into your my verzion account and get a tally.

A program from the app store called Assistant by Pageonce, allows your minuets and txt messages to be tracked. It's a personal finance assistant that keeps track of your bills and such, but you can set it up under your verizon account and it will tell you your text messages, and basically tells you everything your bill does minus the phone numbers that were called or called from.

My personal high count of text messages in one month is 11,000...

My brother's most so far was 15,000....he doesn't have a storm (has an Omnia) but I thought that was absolutely ridiculous.

Another alternative is to download the "My Verizon" app onto your storm. Then you are 2 clicks away from your monthly usage. It will display your minutes used, incoming and outgoing text/MMS messages, and data usage.
