Hey,

For the last week I have been unable to use my storm because I think its stuck in headset mode. I don't own a headset for my storm and never have used one with it, however whenever I make or receive a call i cannot hear or talk to the person on the other end. It has the little headphone icon when a call is in progress and the button in the upper left corner says "Handset" as to say "if you press this button you will switch back to handset mode" but this does nothing. I tried flashing my phone to the newer firmware and it remains stuck in this mode.

What can I do, any suggestions?

Try placing the headset in the phone, make a call or 2 and remove the headset. Play with the headset in the jack. There have been a few cases where its a hardware problem with the connecting jack. Nothing else, return it back to VzW for another Storm. Hope this helps.

I get that on occasion, too. Turn the jack as you're removing it, that seems to do the trick for me.

Wiggle the headphone jack in there. Apparently there is a switch in that you will trigger to return it to normal. This happened to me a month or two ago. If that doesn't work, use a straight paper clip. Even though the jack didn't work for me and the clip did, I recommend the jack first.

Try playing music in the media player, quitting and then pulling out the headset while on a call. You might have to play around with it a bit before it works.

edit: bend it a little when upull out seems to do the trick
