I am hoping that someone can please help me. I am on my 2nd storm, the first one I brought back because I was getting a strange error. I would be using bb messenger and the whole screen would turn white and right in the middle in really small letters it said device error or http error and then the phone would restart itself. Also the strangest camera issue, I would be using my phone and a little square would appear as if the camera was on, and I would see whatever the viewfinder was seeing, but the camera wasn't active. This would happen daily, battery pulls helped but not for long. There were a bunch of other annoying issues, but these two were the worst. So anyway, get a refurb replacement and it's working fine for 2 weeks, now it's doing the exact same thing. The spot with the viewfinder, and the white screen, whenever I go to Verizon, they always tell me they can't get the phone to do this when they have it so they don't know what to do. I have no 3rd party apps, I have installed nothing in this phone. Is there anyone else having this issue? Can anyone give me advice?
    Thanks!!

What OS are you using. I love when people return a phone for nothing more than a software issue, lol.

    Go to Options > About

and tell us what OS you are using, it will say 4.7.0.xx

OS would be good and there are some threads about how to reinstall an OS on your device. If you're running .75, you may want to try to reinstall that one, as many have found it to be stable for them and it's the one supported by Verizon.

Now, if you want to install a leaked version, there are many to choose from. Do not bother to get advice about the leaks from people, but rather read through what the consensus is as to which has the least problems. I personally found .75, .76 and .90 to be the best with .90 being first in my book. But everyone and their grandmother will swear each OS has some issue that forced them to go to another OS that someone ELSE claims forced them to go to the other one.

Point is, you'll have to try different ones for yourself to see which one works best for you.

    Latest OS'es:

    v.99 http://forums.crackberry.com/f132/of...thread-149483/

    v.90 http://forums.crackberry.com/f132/of...thread-142273/

    v.86 http://forums.crackberry.com/f132/of...light=official

    v.85 http://forums.crackberry.com/f132/4-...light=official

    v.83 http://forums.crackberry.com/f132/of...thread-118681/

    v.76 Bell Mobility: 4.7.0.76

    v.75 Verizon: 4.7.0.75
    BlackBerry® Software Updates

I have version .65 if you want it, but I would recommend at least .75 or
    higher.

Full instructions are here to update to a leaked OS.

If you need to downgrade, go here:

There is a link here to use the JL_CMDR program with screenshots. Follow this step by step and you'll be fine.

If you have Vista, go here to see how to get JL_CMDR to install and work properly.

That should get you going. Report back in the OS sub forum if you have questions about an OS or better yet, use Search to see if someone has already asked the question. Chances are, someone has.

    BTW, welcome to the forums!
