Storm's been fine for 2+ years, this morning: BLANKED OUT

Storm was fine last night, fully charged and went to work today. Noticed it was showing a full white screen with tiny notice: JUN Error 545 and a 'reset' black box below. Have reset 3 times, done 2 battery pulls, nada. Same white screen.

No other changes to the hardware or software, was running latest official BB O/S and no upgrades to the phone.

Suggestions to get it from this state back to functional?

You can do a search on JVM error 545 and find a lot of potential solutions. Below is one option, but all will involve reloading the OS. You may have a problem connecting to the phone so look for those tyes of solutions.

Thanks...was able to ID the JVM versus what I thought was JUM...and found the repair on blackberry.com. Did restore the O/S. Unfortunately, my last backup was a few months ago, so I lost some contacts, many of the downloads/games/apps that were on the phone from even 1.5 years ago (did not understand why they were not on my full backup), and a theme.

Back in working condition, theme loaded, probably not putting games back on since I never used them....and just trying to sort it back out.

And of course, ran a full backup.

When I plug in through Desktop Mgr, I get a pop up error that the disk is 'damaged' or something like that and not repairable, but once I exit from that box warning DM seems to work just fine and got everything up and running. It references a re-format, which I'm not inclined to do at this point.

So....it IS working now, just might have to repurchase a few things from MobiHand. Gripe: some apps from earlier versions that I bought worked very well and I did not go to newer versions, but when I go to my Mobi account, it won't allow me to re-download the ones I bought, only pay to upgrade to new versions.

Lesson learned I guess, keep more current backups. : )
