Does anyone know how I can configure unlocked Blackberry Storm to work on Rogers network? I have put in my sim card, and the voice works great. Except I can not configure my BIS service.....
First thing I'd suggest is that you call rogers and ask for their blackberry specialists in tech support. They can hopefully set it up for you.
There was a thread on here yesterday from a Telus employee claiming that it is impossible to unlock a Canadian Storm for use on Rogers or Fido, so you could read that thread. It seemed like Telus propaganda to me, but it may relate to your issue.
You should also make sure you have a blackberry data plan from Rogers...data plans are different with each carrier, but most require a specific blackberry plan for the BB's.
I just have my Verizon storm unlocked and popped in a Rogers sim (with BB data) it worked right away.... "Rogers Mall" and the "Do More" icon showed up... as well as Facebook, MSN, Yahoo etc. As for browser testing, i went to the mobile crackberry site and it worked.... when the page opens, i also downloaded some free OTA apps and it also worked.... so far so good.
was only testing so i didnt switch devices yet... but am sure it would be fine for the email push and all that.

What OS are you running? I had the same problem running .132 but I just downgraded to .76 and my Storm is working perfect on Rogers. Good Luck!
I read a post yesterday on the forums about unlocking the storm from telus...apparently its more than just unlocking the phone. If you search for "qualcomm" in the forums, I remember that was a term in the step by step instructions on how to do it, and is a rare enough word that you shouldn't have too much trouble finding it.
I have a STORM from Verizon and it did not work until I called Rogers and had them remove name display from the plan, leaving number display, all works fine now. Names appear if stored on sim/address book. The version of OS is 4.7.0.75.
I tried the link that was provided - Bell Releases OS 4.7.0.76 for the BlackBerry Storm! Plus Verizon Storm Update Coming Tomorrow - but it takes you the BB page with Rogers. I have to select a phone but the Storm is not listed there. Which one can I use in that list? Or do i have to go to the Bell page.
Also I find my Storm to be extremely slow on Rogers, shuts off, gets confused when i'm listening to music & using BBM at the same time. Should I use this .76 rather than the .122 I have on it right now. Will that help with some of my issues or is there another version I should be using.
I hope someone can help b/c after a few months of trying to luv this phone...I'm getting ready to give up...sigh.

No wonder you're having issues, you're using an ancient OS! Try 4.7.0.167 or 5.0.0.230. Do a backup & wipe and install fresh. Search the forum for instructions and the differences, pros/cons of each OS. If you want to stick to the official releases, try the latest from Verizon (4.7.0.148 as of today).
I'm on Rogers, with an unlocked Verizon branded Storm. Any unlocked Storm (9500 or 9530) will work fine on Rogers. It works perfectly, absolutely no issues.
I have an unlocked storm from the bell network running on rogers. Most things work for me (email sms, pin, browsing) however i have noticed a few things aren't working (Google maps is unable to find my location anymore, app store gives the error no tunnel to open) wondering is anyone has experienced this or has any ideas what i can do fix it
