I wasnt really worried about the lack of WIFI as I am mostly at work where we dont have a network to access but I have a really good EV-DO signal. But I guess when the storm (or GSm Storm like Device) hits At&t they will want WIFI.

Wait until you see the Niagara. You'll seriously think about ditching your Storm.
At first I was thinking that WiFi would be a big loss, but after checking my phone some more to check HSDPA connectivity I only found one blind spot, which is in the center of my house. No biggy for me..
With all the delays from the companies, it would probably be over a year till something is on the market since the only thing we know now is a broad statement from Device Technology Specialist as future planning of putting it in.
I do think it would be wise to incorporate the wifi and I still don't see verizon's point of view of not allowing a wi-fi device on their network unless it's for some type of security reasons.
Nice but not enough to make me wait. I don't think RIM would update the device any time soon after release. Since Verizon is all about ROI, my guess is we will see a Storm V2 in late 09 with a faster processor, more internal memory and WI-FI. Personally, WI-FI was never a deal breaker for me, If WI-FI is available, I am pulling out my laptop anyway.
Would we storm owners get it as a download or would i have to buy a new storm? I only miss it at home when surfing from the sofa! Otherwise wifi isnt an issue for me as I dont use it outside .

I don't want WiFi because my coverage is bad (it's not, I have great 3G service everywhere I go), it's because WiFi is just a great feature to have.
C'mon people. This device has been talked about by all the major blogs. GOOGLE.
I'm not sure how they plan to incorporate wifi into the Storm on Voda. A new version possibly, I dunno.
This is good news. Although I currently can't benefit from NA 3G Bands seeing as my area has no 3G from AT&T, I'm hoping the phone includes it for the future.

It doesn't have a touch screen does it?
I prefer touch screen phones, so I won't be ditching the Storm, if I decide to get the Storm. I also don't care about the Storm's lack of WiFi. With an unlimited data plan I don't have much use for it. It's very rare that I can't get a signal.

I really wish you hadn't said that...
Because there's no way I'm NOT getting a Storm... but no way I'll be paying full retail for the Storm, then full retail again for another Blackberry in a few months. Although I'll probably want to...
CX, So the Niagra is basically the bold for CDMA correct? Also will this Niagra be coming to Telus? if so I will wait on this version! I can get the storm now and then when the Niagra comes get it on my acct and hand it off to my husband and I can keep his storm instead of paying full price for the storm on my account.
My husband doesn't use data anyway, but we can do a triangle exchange on the storm for me and then the triangle exchange for the Niagra for him. that would work and we would still get 2 newer phones.
This is exciting but gosh I dont think I can stress another 6 months waiting for anothger phone. lol!! but it will be worth it eh?
