the Niagara is a STORM with a faux Bold keyboard and an 8900 screen
the Niagara has the exact same internals as the Storm so its more a Storm than anything else
the Niagara shares no hardware with the Bold..they just have a similar keyboard and they are both QWERTY Blackberries...

That's true but it can only be "21 century" if it works properly which the storm has failed to do. A capacitive touchscreen on the Storm would have been the way to go.

I for one am a fan of solid keyboards, i've broken my hands a few to many times and just have trouble navigating the touch screen phones. I've tried everything from palm, iphone, storm and otherwise and just generally prefer the keypads so i'll most likely be looking to the niagra. My only issues revolving around the storm is that i have to work on them every day and i hear the same problems over and over. its slow, it locks up, the screen is bricking.... just wish verizon and rim would pull their heads out of what ever crevice they are in and get the certified software released already...then comes the deluge of walking people through software updates...what a day

Hearing from who????? The Storm-haters who probably don't even own a Storm????

I have my Storm for 2 months and I am still running .75 OS. I don't have any performance lag, no lock up, no random reset, no keyboard problem, no ring tone/vibrate problem, no memory problem, so on and so on.

It is a free country and people can buy whatever they want. But please don't use Storm's performance as an excuse.

By the way, the lady has already removed the video from youtube.

I second that...We have 2 storms and have not had the ridiculous amount of trouble that people are talking about on these message boards. Remember, for the most part, people will always focus on the negative and rarely mention the positives.

The storm is a great phone with the same number of bugs as any electronic device. Give RIM a break...(not that they need it with their amazing profits the last quarter...)

I understand alot of people complained about the Storm. It was a new and really bold concept (no pun intended AT&T). But with anything new you have people that cannot adjust to the clickable screen. I originally was going to purchase a Storm for my wife but she wanted a tactile keyboard. Nothing RIM can do will seperate me from my Storm. However the firmware problems are easily corrected and yes there are nothing but beta's for Verizon user's but don't expect people to help you when it comes to PDA's. You have to help yourself. Everyone is intitled to their opinions. Just learn to express them all in an educated manner. I LOVE MY Storm. But my wife cannot wait for this phone and quite frankly I am excited to! I love Blackberry!

You guys are being very shortsighted. I want:

1. International Service
2. Full Keyboard
3. Camera
4. Verizon

The Curve gives you 2, 3, & 4, but not #1
The 8830 gives you 1, 2, & 4, but not #3
The Storm gives you 1, 3, & 4, but not #2

The Niagara will give you all 4. THAT's why I want the Niagara.

Why do people wont this phone so bad? I mean after watching the video about it, I can't see how its better then the storm?? Its a bold pretty much with a new name. wouldn't you guys rather have a touch screen like the storm VS this Niagara in this video??

YouTube - Blackberry Niagara/9630 tell me your thoughts about it
I personally just don't like the touch screen. At least the way the storm does it. When there are more compatible videos. I will get the storm 2

I like the Storm a lot. However, it's lacking the computer power, (or OS problems), that require one to "close" applications in order for the performance to be acceptable. You shouldn't have to do this. The point of these "Smartphones", is to be able to go from application to application smoothly without "closing" each application in order to move to the next. This is where the Storm is really behind. I just hope furure OS's allow for us to use multiple applications without slowing the device. Just my Opinion. I just close each App and move to the next and the Storm works great. So, it's just a few extra steps. Not the biggest deal to me. But, it would be nice to have it work the way I described earlier.

I love the storm and one of the reasons I chose it was because it WAS a touch screen. I guess I am confused why people would get an entirely touch screen phone and then ***** that it has no physical keyboard.

i hear from customers about problems with the device. not all of them hate it. i do talk to people who absolutly love the storm in fact several people i work with love them. though i think their main complaint is not having wifi, but whatever... i just dont like touch screens
